DIY – Tiki Necklaces!

August 7, 2013 By: Bonniecomment

Simple, Affordable and Fun!
Do-It-Yourself Model Magic Charms

Here is what you need:

*Plastic Ice Cube Trays – We used Tiki Shaped that we got at the DollarTree
*Model Magic – from Crayola
*Eye Screws – we got ours at the local hardware store
*Arleene’s Original Tacky Glue
*Cord – We used hemp that we purchased at A.C. Moore in the jewelry section

Step 1 – Push Model Magic into ice cube tray –TIP allow Model Magic to dry overnight – it will ‘shrink’ slightly in the molds but should be easily ‘tapped’ out of the trays or for ‘stickier’ colors (I found the purple didn’t dry as fast) I used a butter knife to coax the tiki out – and then let that side air dry

Step 2 – Once you have a dry ‘tiki’, push an eye screw into the top of it, then remove it and place a drop of glue in the hole, now replace the eye screw – let dry.

Step 3 – String your Tiki! We used hemp cord but use your imagination and try ribbon, yarn, etc.
TIP – These tiki charms look great strung with other beads – we made paper beads to add!
 Have Fun With It!
