Good Friday Book Share
Today is Good Friday and we want to share some of our favorite books for the season.
Our family welcomes the warmer and longer days that this season brings with more walks and more backyard time. We are fortunate to have several bunny families that are regular visitors to our yard, not just at Easter time but throughout the year.
With Good Friday here and Easter approaching this Sunday, we just wanted to share a few of our favorite family books with you.
- Jan Brett’s Easter Egg – I cannot lie – this book was given to me by my mom in 2010! This book lives on the coffee table this time of year. The illustrations are amazing and the story very touching. Not only is this a great read for the whole family but it is truly a keepsake.
- Rosemary Wells Max’sChocolate Chicken – Max puts his own twist on the egg hunt finding mud and acorns! This is a family favorite.
- The Sparrow’s Easter Songby Michelle Medlock Adams, is a new addition to our library this year. With our daughter asking all sorts of questions about Christ’s death and resurrection this book is a wonderful story. This story as told through the eyes of a sparrow and what the bird witnessed, making this difficult story much easier for children to understand.
- Easter by Gail Gibbons offers a look at everything Easter! From the egg being a symbol of life to the goddess of Spring, Estore, and the legend of the Easter bunny, Gail Gibbons covers it all.
