LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston Welcomes You
Mom’s Lifesavers first look at Boston’s newest family destination was so much fun – we can’t wait to go back!
You can go too. LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston is celebrating its grand opening Memorial Day Weekend.
Mom’s Lifesavers is giving away a family 4 pack of tickets – see our post here for detail on how to win.
Welcome
Upon entering Assembly Row in Somerville, you will be welcomed by Tessie – the sweetest DUPLO brick giraffe you have ever laid eyes on. TIP – There is a free parking garage located right next to LEGOLAND Discovery Center!
Take a moment when you enter the doors to take it all in! Look up and down you will find yourself surrounded by LEGO bricks of all shapes and sizes and the friendliest staffers around.
TIP – There is a LEGO store at the entrance – but the exit from the LEGOLAND Discovery Center is in it, so you can always check it out when its time to leave.
After a short elevator ride you will find yourself at the site of the Factory Tour.
LEGO® Factory Tour
Meet Professor Brick-a-Brack in his workshop to discover how LEGO® bricks are made, how they get their shape and color. The interactive game asks visitors to guide the factory workers through each stage of the LEGO® brick making process: mixing, heating, molding and decorating.
Next Stop: Kingdom Quest Laser Ride
Kingdom Quest Laser Ride
In this indoor LEGO® ride, visitors jump into their chariot and use their laser to zap the trolls and skeletons and rescue the Princess who has been captured. The better the visitor’s aim, the higher their score.
TIP – There is no picture taking allowed on this ride, so put your camera down and pick up your laser and have some fun! At the end of the ride your ‘image’ will be captured if you want to purchase a souvenir after the ride.
A Birds Eye View of Boston
MINILAND®
Discover iconic regional landmarks and attractions all made entirely out of LEGO® bricks. Using more than 3 million LEGO bricks, see Boston come to life with interactive displays, touch screens and sound effects, and watch the LEGO® population explore Boston.
Check out some of our video clips on YouTube that we took during our visit. Cheers, Fenway Park, Logan Airport, Boston skyline and more!
TIP – Take time to explore this attraction. It goes through a lighting sequence so you can see it during both ‘day’ and ‘night’!
Ian Coffey, Brickmaster Welcomes You
As you leave Miniland and are thinking about grabbing a bite at the Cafe, don’t forget to check out Ian Coffey’ office.
Ian’s office is located right on the corner. Mom’s Lifesaver’s introduced you to Ian back in January – see post here. Here is a little video of him welcoming you to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston.
Café
Take a break from building LEGO® creations and relax in the colorful Café area, which offers a selection of healthy food options.
TIP – LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston Annual Pass holders receive a 20 percent discount on all Café purchases.
