Technology for Families – Motorola Digital Baby Monitor
Mom’s Lifesavers was given a Motorola Digital Baby Monitor to help facilitate this review. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely our own.
Wow! Technology has come a long way in just a few years. It’s amazing to me that technology that used to sound like it could only exist in a science fiction movie is now affordable and available to families to make their lives easier.
This week Mom’s Lifesavers is looking at technologies that make life easier on families, like the Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor.
I have always been a little skeptical of baby monitors – when I have used the sound only options, our monitors would pick up signals from the local workers in the area and even monitors of our neighbors – but those were the technology of yesterday.
Today, we welcome technology that makes sense for families – and not just babies, the Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor.
Putting it to the Test
We have been using the monitor for a month now – not once did it pick up a signal, conversation or cry from our neighbor’s monitor, nor our local scanners or walkie talkies.
To get started everything that you need is included in the box! No additional parts, cords, or batteries to buy – it is all included AND everything is labeled – even the power cords with pictures.
Every power cord in my house should be so lucky as to have a picture on it that tells what it belongs to! Brilliant!
Assembly
Right out of the box the Motorola Digital Baby Monitor is ready to go. Each power cord is labeled with a picture and there is an extra cord for the camera, which allows you to move the camera to another location without having to drag the cord along with it.
Here is just how simple the assembly is on the Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor. Grab a Phillip’s head screwdriver and remove the back of the monitor. Insert the battery that is included and replace the cover. That’s pretty much it!
Features
- 3.5″ color display monitor –
- infared night vision (really! this is amazing, no need to turn on a light to see your sleeping child – total wow factor)
- parent monitor has controls to zoom, pan and rotate the camera remotely
- temperature reading of room
- built in lullabies – 5 different lullabies that you can set remotely from the parent monitor
- the 2.4 GHz FHSS technology is what gives the monitor incredible range
- 2 way radio – not only can you hear what is happening in the room being monitored, you can also speak into the microphone area and it will be heard in the room being monitored – nice!
- ability to add additional cameras (able to monitor up to 4 rooms)
See it in Action
