5 Holiday Party Tips from Mom’s Lifesavers & Funny Bones Super Party Store
Yes, it’s that time again. How does it seem to sneak up on us when it is always the same time of year? Will you be hosting a party this year at your home? We have partnered with Funny Bones Super Party Store to serve up some party tips and ideas that can bring out the best in your celebration and help you be ‘present’ for your own event.
We have 5 tips to help you decorate, prep and entertain this Holiday season. Thank you to Funny Bones Super Party Store for providing us with the inspiration in their store in Salisbury, Massachusetts. They are a one-stop party destination on the Seacoast and we couldn’t have written this post without them.
Tip 1 – Make Ahead
Many recipes can be made ahead and frozen or refrigerated until it’s time to cook or reheat. Use disposable aluminum pans to make clean-up a snap. Don’t like the look, don’t worry – you don’t need to serve on it if you don’t want to.
You can use the aluminium pans to do the dirty work, prepping, cooking, baking, sticking, and then serve your dish up on a favorite platter or dish. We love the 10 Piece Refill Party Kits at Funny Bones. It’s such a convenient kit and we have purchased several and LOVE them. A true Mom’s Lifesaver right there.
Tip 2 – Go Paper!
Today’s paper products for the holidays are bright and beautiful. A wide range of designs, looks and colors can be a great place to start. Pick a table cloth that speaks to you – chances are there are coordinating plates, napkins and cups.
Here are some of our favorites for the season:
Paper products make for easier clean-up and those party spills that are bound to happen. Your specialty dishes will still shine at your event and you can actually ENJOY the festivities – PROMISE!
Tip 3 – Go Frozen
We are seeing so many tributes to Frozen – why not switch up your holiday red and green for some cool blue tones, with white snowflakes and snowmen? It’s such an appealing look to EVERYONE!
Get the kids involved and hand them some scissors! Let them cut some snowflakes for decorations – coffee filters, paper plates and copier paper are all great for making snowflakes.
How about some snowballs? These poofs are very popular and will make perfect decorations in your winter wonderland. Funny Bones carries all of these right in their store.
Balloons are an inexpensive alternative to many decorations and come in so many colors and styles – including snowflakes and Frozen themes in latex and Mylar. Funny Bones Super Party Store is ALL about the latest and greatest balloons on the market. Stop by and see their extensive selection.
Tip 4 – Have a Special Guest Arrive
Santa makes a great judge for an ugly sweater contest, he can hand out ‘gifts’ or even stop by to collect unwrapped toys from your guests for your local Toys for Tots. Your local party and costume store will have a wide range of Mr. and Mrs. Claus outfits and accessories. From naughty to nice Santa outfits, your guests will feel like kids again when your special guest arrives.
Want to surprise them with the unexpected? How about inviting a Reindeer or a Snowman to your party? They are sure to make it memorable! Everyone will want their picture taken with your special guests so why not have some ‘photo booth style’ props for your guests, elf hats, antler headbands and blinking noses are always in style this time of year.
Tip 5 – Send Them Home with Something
And by something, we mean those left-overs! Too many left-overs can be daunting for the host.
Stock up before the party on disposable take out containers. Send your guests off with something sweet, savory and satisfying. They’re sure to enjoy it later and remember what an awesome time they had at your party!
We hope these tips and quick ideas will come in handy this holiday season! Be sure to shop local for these items whenever possible. We love Funny Bones Super Party Store for ours…tell us where you like to shop. Happy Holidays! Hope you have the best parties ever this season!
