Sea Crest Beach Hotel Review
Bonnie and I were invited by the Sea Crest Beach Hotel to have a first hand look at this wonderful Cape Cod resort. This is truly Cape Cod without the traffic. An easy 1 hour drive from Boston, you are immediately immersed in the charms and laidback feel we have all come to know on Cape Cod. This is your chance to capture the lifestyle enjoyed by generations before you. Slip on your flip-flops, bring the beach towel, and allow us to help you re-learn the art of relaxation.
Christine grew up in the hospitality business in Rockport, Massachusetts. Her parents owned a large Inn and 12 separate cottages along the ocean in a tourist town. She knows the in’s and out’s of this industry and can truly see a well run business. Well, from the greeting at the gate all the way through until we check-out, we must say we were VERY impressed with this resort. All of it!
To have a friendly and accommodating staff you must have a pleasant behind the scenes management. The rooms we were able to see were immaculate and comfortable in a serene décor right on the ocean.

Accommodations Video
We had a rare opportunity to see their brand new ‘cottage’ and we must say, it was a real unexpected treat on the resort.
The Cottage
The Cottage features three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a spacious living room, open kitchenette, washer and dryer, expansive deck, and a private backyard ideal for family games and entertaining. A color scheme of soft neutrals throughout, accented with sea glass blues and greens, evokes the soothing natural palette of the Cape Cod shore. Bonnie and I loved it!
The three bedrooms include king beds. Rattan headboards and cable-knit throws add textural interest and contemporary appeal. A well-stocked kitchenette, complete with appliances and a breakfast bar, opens to the living room, which offers a comfortable seating area and step-out access to the deck and back yard. Surrounded by privacy hedges, the yard is designed for outdoor entertaining. Guests can enjoy an open-air breakfast on the deck’s dining set or settle into a rocking chair with a summer book, while in the grassy yard below, a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs is ideal for s’mores under the stars. Guest of the cottage can use all the great amenities of the resort, footsteps away.
The Restaurants and Food
The history of a region can be told through its cuisine. The Sea Crest Beach Hotel has great restaurants! We got to the resort around noontime and after our tour and some beach time we ended up having lunch at around 3pm. We pulled up to the gorgeous and comfortable outdoor bar, where we were greeted by the nicest bartender we have ever met. She greeted us so kindly and took such great care of our time with her. It was simply delicious. We LOVED our Fish’n Chips and Chicken Sandwich. It’s no ordinary bar-food lunch. It was so delicious we didn’t have room for dinner surprisingly(we must get back there soon to try Red’s!).
Red’s Restaurant and Lounge – Each night Red’s draws sun-lovers, sports enthusiasts, executives, beach bums and visitors to Red’s, a celebration of one of sports all-time greatest personalities and philanthropist, Arnold Jacob “Red” Auerbach. Whether you have just spent hours riding your kayak on Buzzard’s Bay or have managed to escape from the afternoon’s meeting, this casual eatery will welcome you with all your favorites. A variety of settings available from private intimate dining in the PDR, family friendly Three Seasons Porch, or the Private Red’s Room.
Lobby Café (Seasonal) – Slip into the serenity of Café, where wireless internet access, current news programming, freshly brewed coffee and specialties are available. For a quick bite in the morning and getting in touch with the world outside, this is a superb option.
The Ocean View Room – Enjoy your breakfast overlooking the white sands of Old Silver Beach and watch the variety of vessels sail by on Buzzard’s Bay. We really enjoyed our full buffet! It’s around $20 per person, but you won’t have to eat again until dinner-time…it’s that amazing!
Red’s Poolside Bar (Seasonal) – Featuring an open deck overlooking the swimming pool and Old Silver Beach, the poolside bar allows you to let loose, enjoy a favorite drink, and really smell the ocean air of Buzzard’s Bay. Ocean views mix with cocktails and conversation to create an unforgettable summer ambience.
Red’s Take Out – Grab and go specials allow you to spend more time doing what you love. At Red’s Take Out, you can have your cake and eat it, too. Pick up lunch on your way to the beach, and enjoy a flavorful meal in between sailing, paddling or building the perfect sandcastle. Take-out never tasted so good.
Final Thoughts from Bonnie and Christine
Mom’s Lifesavers loves this resort. It’s truly a lovely place to come and relax and unwind. We recommend it not just for families, but couples and weekend getaways with the ‘girls’ or ‘guys’.
Just imagine….gulls cry over Buzzard’s Bay, guests are lulled to sleep by the rise and fall of the Atlantic’s tides. Whether you are here to unwind or host the social event of the season, you will encounter nothing but personalized service—in a setting that is not only affordable, but adds value to your life. We will be back very soon!
