Mom’s Lifesavers Visits Payeur’s Blueberry Farm
For years we have picked blueberries at this wonderful family farm in Maine. We just learned that 2016 will be their last season. Let’s get out and make this the best season ever for them!
A perfectly picked family day.
Finding a perfect place to pick your favorite fruits and veggies is easier than ever these days with so many wonderful farms out there.
While we were in Maine we headed to one of our favorite picking places, Payeur’s Blueberry Farm.
Family owned and operated, this is the perfect place to take the kids blueberry picking.
When you arrive you can select a lined bucket to pick into. Kids buckets come with a helium balloon tied to them to make finding even the smallest pickers in and among the rows of blueberries.
Be sure to have your picture taken outside the barn with their new ‘Look What’s Growing’ sign – it is certain to be annual photo stop for our family!
When we headed out to pick we were offered a ride out to the best picking spot – check out our video below – you can even see the blueberries from the vehicle.
After picking an entire bucket (yay! enough to make a few batches of blueberry jam) we headed back to the barn to have our harvest weighed.
When you are checking out, be sure to take a peek in the freezer for the Payeur’s Blueberry Farm, small batch blueberry ice cream made by Shaker Pond Ice Cream.
We opted for a few Blueberry Cookie Monstahs – two chocolate chip cookies with blueberry ice cream in the middle – they were amazing!
