Apple Picking – Have You Been Yet?
Ready to make some memories? Take the kids apple picking. Sure you’re going to pick more than you need but that means you can bake with them too! Our kids love apple picking and where we live in New England it is almost a mandatory activity this time a year.
There are so many incredible farms in New England! Apple picking is the perfect family activity – even the littlest of hands are helpers.
Find a farm near you and take advantage of the harvest season – from fresh pressed cider, hayrides, pumpkins, oh and don’t forget the cider donuts – there is something for everyone on a trip to a local farm.
Finding a Farm Near You
Mom’s Lifesavers gathered the following links to help you find an orchard or farm near you:
This link shows a map of Massachusetts– you can alter the search criteria if you are looking for PYO (pick your own) or a farm stand, dairy, etc. My first search came up with over 80 farms – how about them apples?
New Hampshire – plenty to choose from when it comes to orchards – for a full listing click here. This site is broken down by county – it also has great recipes too!
Vermont – Here is a complete listing of orchards in Vermont – each one listed also has contact information and varieties in season.
How about this map with links to all theĀ orchards in Maine – there are so many to choose from throughout the state. I may have to plan a trip to Paris (Paris, Maine that is) just so I can say we picked apples in Paris! LOL.
Connecticut offers a wide range of orchards as well – check out this link to find one close to you – this site offers a breakdown of location based on region.
