The perfect time of year to take the kids blueberry picking!
One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to pick native blueberries from low bushes that grow in the wild in areas of New England. We would sit in the scratchy brush and pick TINY berries that tasted like heaven. Tiny bursts of flavor that I will never forget. Sadly, these little spots are being taken over by development, and my childhood spot is gone. I remember nearly 10 years ago finding a wild blueberry patch in Bar Harbor, Maine while hiking….it’s was like finding GOLD! So get out there and do a little hiking to find some blueberries, or head out to your favorite farm and do some picking there. It’s therapeutic….trust us!
