Charlie Brown Trail Mix DIY
We are so excited to share our Charlie Brown Trail Mix DIY with you. Our family has been a fan of PEANUTS for years and are so looking forward to the PEANUTS Movie in theaters on November 6.
Growing up, October always meant watching It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown on television and who can forget A Charlie Brown Christmas every holiday season?
We couldn’t be more excited to share The PEANUTS Movie with our kids this year.
Charlie Brown Trail Mix DIY
Charlie Brown will always have a spot in our hearts and what better way to honor the movie’s star than with his very own trail mix.
We pulled together some of our favorite flavors, both salty and sweet along with some great textures, crunchy and chewy to make a snack mix that the whole family will enjoy.
Oh, did we mention, we have the perfect serving cup for it too and we’ll show you how to make it.
Ingredients
We picked up all our trail mix supplies at our local supermarket:
- Popcorn (we popped our own but you can purchase pre-popped as well) – it’s a movie after all, you have to have popcorn!
- Pretzels – Kidzels are a great pretzel – we used the people shape, it looks just like a Charlie Brown as well as the dog, Snoopy of course and that amazing dog house.
- Chocolate Candies – we added harvest colored M&Ms, after all they are the perfect color of Charlie Brown’s shirt.
- Mini Marshmallows – these little sweet puffs reminded us of Snoopy.
- Yogurt Covered Raisins – Sun Maid has a perfect seasonal flavor, caramel sea salt that will appeal to adults and kids alike.
Mix ingredients in a large serving bowl. Scoop and serve in Charlie Brown Cups (see DIY below) Enjoy.
Charlie Brown Cups
Looking for the perfect way to serve up your Charlie Brown Trail Mix? We have a fun and easy to make serving cup that comes together in minutes.
Supplies
- Charlie Brown shirt color yellow, paper cups
- Black tape, we used Duct tape but electrical, masking or washi would also work
- Cutting blade
- Straight edge
- Cutting board
Steps
- Gather your supplies.
- Roll out a strip of duct tape onto the cutting board.
- Using a straight edge and cutting blade cut duct tape into strips. Our strips were approximately 3/4 inch in width.
- Once you have cut multiple strips of tape, remove them one at a time and place them on a diagonal onto the middle of the paper cup, creating a zig zag pattern around the cup.
- Overlap tape ends as you move around the cup until the ends meet.
