Make a Memory – Fenway Park with the Family
Opening day at Fenway Park is April 13, 2015 and here in New England, after a VERY long winter with record breaking snow, we’re ready for some baseball.
Here in New England, we are part of Red Sox Nation and Mom’s Lifesavers is a proud to be a part of Red Sox Moms this year. Are you planning on taking the family out to a ball game?
Our families have been going to games for generations.
Memories
Back in the day (we won’t say just how long ago) Bonnie’s dad would take her and her sister to Fenway Park – did we we mention that he complained about paying $10 for parking? Ha ha. During the Grapefruit league games we would even peel off soup labels from cans in lieu of having to purchase tickets. You could get a free ticket with 3 soup labels – of course we always forgot what was in those cans but I’ll always remember those games.
Christine’s School Trips to Fenway
My father ALWAY has the Red Sox games blaring from the radio in the ’70’s…I loved Jim Rice as a tiny kid. My first experience visiting Fenway for a real game was going with Rockport Middle School Band class. My parents never took me to games, but after my first school trips, one of which I saw Reggie Jackson, I was HOOKED!
I’m thankful to my teachers for bring us and bonding at Fenway as a class! Later in life, I would buy last minute available tickets with friends – all the time. Just sitting in that ballpark makes my heart sing. I love ALL of it….the food, the people, the game, the Boston vibe. I’m truly in my element at a Red Sox Game and I can’t wait to share it with my girls, who are now the same age I was when I started going.
Fenway Park is even More Kid Friendly in 2015
Fenway Park has created an even more kid-friendly atmosphere this season with the addition of:

- Wally’s Clubhouse – Red Sox Kid Nation Clubhouse is being transformed into the new “Wally’s Clubhouse,” open from the 3rd to the 7th inning season-long, providing families with a respite from inclement weather, a place to play and walk around, and a welcoming venue for children to meet Wally the Green Monster.
- Red Sox Kids Crew – A new group of Fenway Park staff, Red Sox Kids Crew, will greet kids as they enter Gate K, lead children in games, and provide families with assistance and information about kid-friendly Fenway Park activities.
