Boston Area Michaels Crafts Stores Get a New Look!

Are you ready to #GetCraftyBoston?  We sure are!

Did you know that the Boston area Michaels stores have a new look? Mom’s Lifesavers was honored to be invited for a tour to check out all the new updates and changes made to the Michaels at the Saugus, Massachusetts location. Just about 27 stores in the Boston area had a facelift.  It’s really awesome.  Be sure to join in the excitement and head over to the new Michaels near you. First off…WOW! I was so incredibly impressed with the new look.

Here are my top 5 highlights from our tour:

1. Brand New Look: The store is now very bright, and open.  There is now a customer greeting area that lets you take a moment to look around the perimeter of the store and get a lay of the land.  Easy navigation signage now adorns the upper tier of the walls in black.  So you quickly can see where you need to go, or become inspired to venture to new areas you haven’t been to before.  Each staff member is now wearing red shirts.  The hope is that staff are easily recognized to help you with your shopping needs.  The store overall looks much cleaner, appealing and a happy and fun place to shop! BIG thumbs up on the renovations!

2. Wonderful World of Wilton: Your baking and decorating dreams have just been kicked up a notch at the new Michaels Stores!  I was so inspired by this section.  SO much available and this area has been significantly boosted.  It really is a very popular line for them and it’s nice to see it so full of items in a larger dedicated section. The store has a ton of classes to teach you all you need to know about cake decorating.  Check out their classes…we are!

3. Custom Florals: Have some floral ideas and don’t know where to start?  We were so impressed with this section.  With a dedicated floral designer in every store, you can trust that your ideas will come to reality with expert knowledge.  They love holiday work, weddings, tribute/memorials and graduations.  Stop by the floral department and see the new mesh wreaths! They are cool!

4. Framing Excellence:  In my eyes is the framing at Michaels is bar none.  They do the BEST job.  They have a new user friendly area to take your creativity to a new level and allow you to get in the action.  There is now a work island.  So you can handle all the materials.  They have state of the art framing technology and experts to get your precious art into the frame it deserves.

5. Kids Get Crafty: Our favorite addition is the cool new classroom at Micheals.  It’s so bright and colorful.  This new addition truly is the cherry on top for the stores.  Kids are able to have classes and birthday parties like never before.  Now situated in the FRONT of the Saugus store, it’s so nice.  Can’t wait to bring my kids there.  Check out the summer activity calendar and schedule for kids. We love the summer program called Passport to Imagination. We will be signing up the kids for these!

Come Craft with Jo! Jo Pearson, celebrity crafter, is coming to some of the Boston location Michaels to craft with customers. Check out the locations listed below to meet and craft with her. How cool is that?

Grand Reopening Details

·         On Sunday, May 4 27 Boston-area stores will unveil their new look with a grand re-opening. Festivities will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m., and doors open at 10 a.m. Michaels will be giving away more than $1000 in gift cards at each store and attendees can register to win an Ottlite Desk Lamp.

·         Michaels creative expert Jo Pearson, a fan favorite on TLC’s Craft Wars will be touring the stores the week of May 5-9 doing free demons at the below Michaels stores:
