Looking for Halloween Party Ideas?
Mom’s Lifesavers asked the owners of Funny Bones Super Party Store in Salisbury, Massachusetts to help us out on this Halloween Party post. Not only did they give us some inspiration from the awesome items in their store, but they gave us a great Halloween Party Check List that will help you get started on a SPOOKTACULAR bash!
Halloween Parties are pretty much whatever your spook factor thrill is. We really suggest that you keep it simple, but your guest will think you spend weeks preparing – but when you have one-stop shopping at Funny Bones Super Party Store, you look like a party pro! You can certainly go ghoulish, but we are preparing a recipe for fun that everyone can enjoy, even the youngest of monsters won’t get spooked – and that usually makes for a successful party!
Halloween Check List
Paper Goods – What to Buy
- Halloween themed paper goods – Plates, napkins and cutlery
- OR coordinating paper goods in solid colors: orange, red, black or white
- Clear plastic cups (this will highlight the ‘red’ colored juice you will have in your clear punchbowl, right?!
- Table coverings – We prefer using plastic tablecloths. It makes clean up synch! We love using coordinating colors or one with a black spider web we found at Funny Bones.
Decorate the Space
- Balloons – Funny Bones has a huge selection. You can mix and match and these really fill ‘dead’ spaces in the party area. This is a very inexpensive way to decorate. We highly recommend renting a helium tank. Many party stores rent them for a fee.
- Piñatas – Younger Kids: Nothing says fun better than a Piñata! If you have small children we highly suggest the pull tabs on a ‘child friendly’ version where the kiddos just pull tabs one by one until the secret door with all the treasures can fall out of.
- Piñatas – Older Kids: Can easily use the traditional game of whacking the Piñata until the candy falls out.
Unexpected Goodies
- Glow in the Dark – everyone loves glow-in-the dark accessories. Funny Bones has a huge selection. Since the lights are dim for the party anyway, you can offer you guests fun bracelets, necklaces and even mouth guards! Just be careful when offering these to the littlest guests for safety reasons.
- Special Effects and Lighting – Fog machines, disco lights and black lights are a fantastic way to kick a party up a notch. The younger kids LOVE bubble machines and these are best left outside so that floors don’t get to slippery for the kiddos running around.
- Face paint is very popular right now too, so have a station at the party for people to try their hand at it.
- Goodie Bags – Provide your guest with a trick or treat bag. This can be used at each party and for the actual trick or treat outings. It’s a fun gift to give your guests. Fill it with play spiders and fun tattoos.
- Decorating – Lanterns are a great way to light up the driveway, outdoor porch or inside! Put some battery operated tea lights inside and you are ready to go! Fun Spiders can adorn the walls and feather boas can be used to decorated tables-capes. We also like the beverage clings that you can adhere to glassware, or even plastic cups! Kids and adults can select
- Cupcake Stand – We love the cupcake stand at Funny Bones. It’s an easy to assemble tower and this can be used yearly! And it’s easy to store when not in use! We love it!
