Throwback Thursday: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Do you remember waiting all year for the Charlie Brown specials to come on television? I do.

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

The night that this Halloween movie was on was such a special night in our house. Our  whole family would watch together as Linus waited with Sally in the pumpkin patch.

I never really understood (until later in life) Snoopy as the World War I Flying Ace searching for the Red Baron. Let’s not forget Charlie Brown trick or treating in his ‘ghost’ costume that looked more like a peeled potato.

Today we can watch  “It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” anytime of year but there is something so special about watching during Halloween. Note: We watched it together and I have to say I had forgotten how many times the word ‘stupid’ is said.  Oops.

Who didn’t feel sorry for Charlie Brown when he said, “I got a rock.”?

Our book, now considered vintage,  was printed in 1969 and is “Dedicated to the Great Pumpkin” and so is this blog post.
